Denmark is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,004 at the 2000 census. Denmark is originally (and still) the name of a country in Scandinavia , Europe.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,004 people, 417 households, and 284 families residing in the town. The population density was 8.6/km² (22.3/mi²). There were 969 housing units at an average density of 8.3/km² (21.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 97.91% White, 0.40% African American, 0.50% Asian, 0.20% from other races, and 1.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.10% of the population.
There were 417 households out of which 30.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.7% were non-families. 23.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.88.
