February Vacation Week Events in the Mount Washington Valley

Trying to decide what to do on vacation week here in the Mount Washington Valley? With all the fresh snow, skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling are a given, but there is a lot more going on in the MWV! Below is just a sampling of some of the events happening this week!

  • Winter Carnival at Settlers Green. Join Settlers Green in North Conway for hot chocolate, raffles, sales, and an outdoor movie throughout vacation week! Learn more at http://www.settlersgreen.com
  • Cranapalooza at Cranmore Mountain. DJ Dance Parties, live music, family activities, and s’mores. Fireworks light up the sky February 18th at 6:30pm. Learn more at www.cranmore.com
  • M&D Playhouse presents 84 Charing Cross Road. Written by Helene Hanff and adapted for the stage by James Roose-Evans, this wonderful show is a dramatization of business letters between a young struggling writer in New York and an antiquarian book store in London. 84 Charing Cross Road is presented February 16- 26, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM with Sunday matinees at 4:00 PM.   • Winter Carnival at King Pine. Join King Pine for sleigh rides, snowshoe tours, silly slalom and belly bag races, family challenge races and more! Enjoy fireworks on Thursday, February 23rd at 9:15pm. Learn more at www.kingpine.com
  • Character Breakfast at Theater in the Wood. Enjoy a tasty pancake breakfast, a storybook reading and a meet & greet. Stop by the Maple Sugar Shack after to see how they make their own syrup! Saturdays through April 15th. Learn more at www.believeinbooks.org
  • 28th Annual Chocolate Festival. Come and support this annual fundraiser for the nonprofit Mt. Washington Valley Ski Touring Foundation. Hundreds have for almost 30 years to cross country ski or snowshoe from inn-to-inn along the groomed network trails for the "Sweetest Day on the Trails".  Visit each stop for chocolate treats of all kinds from chocolate fondue, brownie sundaes, chocolate fountains, chocolate-dipped treats and more. January 2017 Real Estate Market Update

With the first month of the year under our belts, let’s look at how January of 2017 compared to January of 2016.

Residential Properties:

  • The number of residential properties sold decreased to 45 units sold in 2017, slightly below the 48 sold in January of 2016.
  • Despite less properties being sold, the average sold price of residential properties increased 3.2% over 2016 to $200,803
  • There are currently 321 active listings on the market
  • There are 101 properties under agreement

Land Properties:

  • The number of land listings sold nearly tripled, with 11 listings sold in January 2017, versus just 4 sold in January 2016
  • The average sold price increased 226% to $84,445 in 2017
  • There are currently 331 active listings on the market
  • There are 23 land listings under agreement
